Building the Benchmarks of 5 and 10

My favorite topic is number sense and my favorite number relationship that builds number sense is the Benchmarks of 5 & 10.  Now, I know you really shouldn’t have a favorite, they all are essential (just like all of my kids…but depending upon the day, you never know which is going to be my favorite)!

All 4 of the Number Relationships have a role to play but I’m kinda partial to the Benchmarks of 5 and 10.  In this video I describe all 4 of the number relationships, but go into detail about the Benchmarks of 5 and 10.
