Looking for some fun (and FREE) Christmas Themed Math Activities??  Well, Teachers Pay Teachers has a bunch of free ones, but I just picked out a few for you.

1)  Kindergarten and 1st grade kiddos will have fun with Santa’s Sleigh Drop.  They get to model a story problem about Santa dropping toys off his sleigh using a ten frame and double ten frame.  K.CC.4, K.CC.5, K.OA.1, K.OA.2, K.OA.4, 1.OA.1, 1.OA.4, 1.OA.5, 1.OA.7

2)  Second graders will enjoy this puzzler of a game!  Christmas Math Games has the children using their knowledge about basic addition facts along with some strategy to decide the best place to put their numbers in order to win.
2.OA.2, 2.NBT.5

3)  Redesigning the North Pole is a great performance task.  Kids get to practice the concepts of area and perimeter while redesigning either the North Pole or one of the buildings.  3.MD.3, 3.MD.4, 3.MD.5, 3.MD.6, 3.MD.7, 3.MD.8

4)  Looking for a way to get your kids engaged in practicing their multiplication facts?  Check out this Christmas Math Mystery Picture.  3.OA.7 Even though this meets a 3rd grade standard, this should NOT be used until children have an understanding of multiplication…which most of them do not in the middle of 3rd grade.  So I think this is more appropriate for 4th and 5th graders as a way to practice.
